This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Each year our public Montessori classroom comes bursting alive with over 22 different personalities, each with their own learning styles and needs. As we begin the new school year, we are excited to move closer to the way things were pre-pandemic, with increased purposeful movement, small group, and partnered work. A flexible seating refresh is just what we need!
An important piece of the Montessori philosophy is to "follow the child" and in order to do this, children need freedom to get comfortable when and where they choose to work in the classroom, in an effort to reach their full potential.
Flexible seating options allow children to self-monitor their needs and utilize seating arrangements that will work best for optimal focus and learning. With your help I can offer students a variety of seating possibilities enhancing the Montessori learning environment where students are empowered to own their education and choose how they work best each day!
