My Project

My classroom is a first grade ENL (English as a new language) class. Most of my students are not only newcomers, but living in shelters. Coming to school for some is the best part of their day. Regardless of their circumstance, they come in with excitement and an eagerness to get the day started. I am determined to make their classroom a bright, safe, and inclusive learning environment that will make them excited to come to school everyday and motivated to learn!

I plan on incorporating many social emotional learning activities which will require my students to come to the meeting area, the rug.

Holding lessons in the meeting area allows the students to come together and collaborate more, which will enhance their English language acquisition. A comfortable place to sit will allow my students to focus on learning and meeting their full potential. By supporting this project, you'll be providing an environment that is cozy, comfortable, and motivating for my students. Thank you for investing in our classroom!
