Comfortable & Calming Learning

Help me give my students a carpet to sit on for morning meetings and during our reading lessons and some play doh to play with when finished early and waiting on others to finish their work.

My Project

Our school underwent remodeling and we got hardwood floors to replace carpet that had been in rooms for years. I only have a 5' x 4' rug for students to sit on. This leaves some students on the cold, hard, floor during our morning meetings, reading, indoor recess, etc. Some students are early finishers and look for things to do but often times students want to color or draw. This requires them to grab materials, thus walking around the classroom. . Play doh would allow students to engage in quiet play allowing the others to finish their work. Each child would have a can of Play Doh at their desk to play with when they finish early.

A carpet for the classroom would ensure every child has a designated spot to sit on the carpet as we conduct morning meetings and reading lessons.

Play doh would allow for quiet yet engaging play, without all of the classroom distractions.

This would eliminate arguments and unnecessary noise.
