My Project

At our Academy for Boys in Southeast Washington, DC, we have some of the most amazing 8th graders who are excited to travel internationally! For the past 4 years, our young Black and Brown boys have studied the Black Experience globally; as a part of critical exposure, they are traveling to Europe. They will be following the steps of Fredrick Douglass, our school's character model as he traversed across Europe as a newly freed Black man.

To ensure that we have an amazing travel experience that changes their lives, we want to provide our boys with neck pillows.

Most of our boys are from low-income families where travel is not the norm; so they do not have proper travel items such as neck pillows. Therefore, we want all of our boys to have access to all the special amenities for their travel that will make them feel like jet setters! We simply do not want them to feel embarrassed.
