This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every day, my students arrive at school carrying more than just backpacks. Many come in feeling hungry, cold, or overwhelmed by stressors beyond their years. As their teacher, I strive to create a classroom environment where they feel safe, seen, and supported—both physically and emotionally.

With your help, this project will meet my students' most essential needs: warmth, nourishment, and emotional care.

I’m requesting a mini iPad and a charging station to create a calming, student-centered SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) space. Students will use the iPad for:

Guided mindfulness and breathing exercises

Calming music and SEL-friendly stories

Emotion-regulation activities and visuals

This tech will be housed in a designated “peace corner,” where students can take a moment to self-regulate, reflect, and reset.
