Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our science lab is a place of challenge and discovery. Students will spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they pursue their education.

The students that I have a privilege of teaching are 3rd and 4th graders in an urban inner city elementary school.

They are excited to explore the world of science, to perform experiments, and to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

Our student population is 99% minority and over 85% receive free or reduced lunch. With that being said, I believe that they deserve the BEST education and every opportunity to be successful in fulfilling their dreams

My Project

I want for my 140 students plus future students to play games that engage the mind and fire the imagination. My students will benefit so much by playing games that build social skills, ability to focus, and self-confidence. This experience will transcend into their academic world and leaders of the future. A few games that I'm interested in are Piper Computer Kit, Giant 4 Connect in a row, and Tegu Magnetic Blocks.
