Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are a diverse group of kindergarteners and first graders eager to learn and excited about school! Because they are so little, they are quite squirmy and need to move around...a lot!

One of the things I noticed that helps is that they do no sit at desks all day.

They love having a choice in where they sit and are often lying on the carpet with a friend and clipboard or cuddled in the book nook area with a good book. This is how they learn best and I want to take advantage of this opportunity to help them learn!

My Project

Having flexible seating allows my students to work in an environment that is comfortable and freeing for them to learn. Not all of them want to sit at a hard desk all day. Most of them prefer to work on the carpet or on the one silly chair that I have in the room. I am asking for 10 stools for the students to be able to sit at tables or sit in various part of the room if they prefer. I would like more of my kids to have the opportunity to sit where they want in order for them to learn best. Some of them are so quiet and they never ask for the special seating even though I know they would love to use them. This project would allow everyone the opportunity to sit in fun chairs.
