Help Mrs. Boula

Come on down and help my students to get as much as possible out of intervention and enrichment time! I am a fourth grade teacher at a Title I public school in a rural area. I teach all subject areas.

Every day we need to address all levels and needs of each learner in the classroom. It is important to reach students who are not grasping concepts. I do this through intervention and enrichment time. This intervention time consists of small group intense work focused on specific skills in both reading and math. The other children in the class who have grasped the concepts also need to be challenged and their minds enriched. Therefore, they work at their seats on different higher level thinking skills. During this time, all students are being challenged in some way!

I would like to keep the students engaged and interested during this intervention and enrichment time. One way to do this is through a quiz game. I know the students will love the challenge of coming up with the correct answer and buzzing in to let the group know. This will bring a new spin to intervention time and help the students grasp concepts in an exciting way. The reading activity will be great for at-your-seat enrichment. Students will have a choice of what they want to work on. Giving students a choice helps them take ownership of their learning and it makes them more involved and focused. These activities will enrich their reading skills in new and exciting ways.

It is so important to give students opportunities to learn concepts in new and exciting ways. They are always enthusiastic to play a game. With these materials students can play as they learn. These materials will also help students take ownership of their learning and see their own successes!
