My Students

Our students come from a mixed socioeconomic background. We live in an area that is a combination of a rural and small-town feel. Our students are active, engaged learners that, when giving the proper guidance, materials, and support, can create amazing things with their imaginations.

Our students are creative minded, active learners who deserve the opportunity to expand their horizons and learn from experiences.

My Project

My school is building a STEAM room for our students for this upcoming school year. We are looking to engage all students in a fun, innovative, and creative learning environment. Education has changed since many of us attended school and it is important that we, as educators, change with our students.

All students learn differently and it is up to us to provide students with the critical thinking skills that will help prepare them for success in the 21st century.

The items in this project are part of a much larger picture to help create an innovative environment where students can be creative and try things without the fear of failure or judgement. All students will be exposed to our STEAM room and be given the opportunity to collaborate with their peers under the guidance of trained educators.

The K'Nex sets and the Snap Circuits kits will help foster the creativity that resides within our students and allow them to navigate the skills necessary to problem solve and build. These items will show them the possibilities that exist when they allow themselves to be creative and explore!
