This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Art is a vital part of life; As the saying goes, 'There is no EARTH without ART'. In recent years, technology has also become increasingly essential, especially with the events that have occurred and caused the world to become more interconnected through technology. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has for the most part subsided, it has affected not just the daily lives of us adults, but also our children. They are not immune to the stress and difficulties of living through a global crisis. Not only is art a way to express creativity, but it has been shown to have positive effects on mental health, particularly for children from low-income families who face many challenges on a daily basis.

I intend to combine technology and art techniques to help students learn important values such as patience and mindfulness, while also promoting mental health.

The project will involve tie-dying t-shirts, a process that requires patience and attention to detail, as it requires waiting for the dye to set. In addition to the materials needed for tie-dying shirts, the laptop would be an invaluable tool in helping my students improve their mental health and learning valuable lessons, as it can be used to create fun and engaging presentations on these topics.

My students are preschoolers from low-income families, so it is imperative that we give them opportunities to express themselves creatively while also fostering their mental health and well-being. I hope that this project will inspire a love of art and creativity in my students. Any help is appreciated!
