Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My student-athletes are hard working, smart, skilled and love to excel on and off the basketball court. At our campus, all of the student-athletes (Boys and Girls) display a tremendous amount of school spirit and are extremely proud to represent our campus. We currently have 13 sports teams that participate in the Public School Athletic League (PSAL).

My students are focused on striving to attend college and participating in positive activities such as sports and fitness.

The goal is to get more training equipment and uniforms so that our student-athletes can train to get better. We are limited in the resources we have and there isn't funding available for us to utilize.

My Project

The items listed will be used to help train student athletes and other students in the school community. The training equipment such as jump ropes, hurdles and agility ladders will be used throughout the school year for preseason and postseason workouts as well as physical education classes. The goggles, defensive mannequin and blocking pads will mainly be used in basketball practices to help the student-athletes enhance their skills. The coaching boards will be utilized during basketball games by the coaches to give the student-athletes a visual of game strategies. All of the equipment will be essential in the strength, conditioning and training of the students in order to help them develop.

The goal is for our student-athletes to enjoy exercising and be well-conditioned in order to become physically fit and live a healthier lifestyle.

I want to tackle the issue of obesity and help reduce other health risk factors. In the future, I plan to implement a nutrition curriculum that emphasizes healthy eating. The students of our campus will benefit tremendously from the contributions for years to come.
