Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
To best meet the needs of my students I need to differentiate and offer multiple entry points in lessons. Through the use of hands-on materials students are better able to learn. The heat press will allow me to create personalized and authentic learning materials for my students. When math is taught in this way students are engaged and show more confidence in the classroom. The use of whiteboards, crayons, and markers allows me to differentiate material to best meet the needs of my students. Using whiteboards is a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. Students are best able to share their practices in an engaging way in small groups using the whiteboards. Students are more willing to explore topics when they are given the outlet of whiteboards to work on rather than their notebooks. The whiteboards also allow me as a teacher to see how they are working through a given problem. what they are doing, as well as providing an easy place for them to show and share their work. Crayons and markers will also offer students the chance to add color and their own voice to their work.
My students are more engaged in the lesson when they are given choices of how to share.
Through the use of these materials, students will be able to work with others and engage in the lesson more fully.
