This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There is nothing more beautiful to a five-year-old than a brand new box of Crayola crayons. Clean, organized, pointy...and all yours! Our crayons have been loved so much that they are almost gone.

Our class is so exciting!

We are 23 Kindergarten children from a high needs area in New York. Most of us are learning English for the first time. It is a full time inclusion classroom with two teachers. One teacher is a special education teacher and the other teacher is a general education teacher with and English as a second language background. Ten children have individualized education plans to support their special needs (speech and language impairments and learning disabilities). We love reading, writing, math, and the arts!

My Project

With new crayons, the children will be able to complete their independent literacy assignments more effectively and efficiently. The children will get to use one box of crayons at school and the other box will be sent home to help with homework. The colored pencils will be used during Writing Workshop for the children to illustrate their stories.

New crayons and colored pencils will make a positive impact on our classroom.

The children will feel that they have the necessary supplies to complete their classwork and homework independently and with a sense of pride.
