This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Toner cartridges will provide my English Language Learners (ELLs) with opportunities to create, understand, and deepen their understanding of the world around them. Being the ELD teacher at a Title I-funded school I service over 100 students who are learning English. I am constantly printing and finding new materials to enhance my vocabulary, writing, and grammar lessons. Each student comes with their unique background and finding materials that relate to English and both their native home language can be both challenging and rewarding. When they see Sukkah in color and I can relate it to a color picture of a hut, teepee, and shed, the student's eyes light up.

Toner cartridges will allow me to create and connect students to a deeper level of learning.

All of my students come from low-income backgrounds, and I purchase as much ink as I can throughout the year. However, our number of ELD students continues to grow, and it is tough to keep up with the demand.

I'd love the opportunity to continue to watch students grow, understand and see life in color!
