My Students

I teach in a very diverse area in Queens at a Title I school. In my school district, students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I try to provide creative and meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for my students. I try to plan engaging lessons that will help them succeed and decrease the academic gap. I believe my students should have the same opportunities available to them as those who live in more affluent areas of NY. My students need to have up to date and interesting resources available to them. Not all students are able to afford basic supplies and some are definitely not able to pay for extra resources to enhance learning. I would like to provide my students with multiple opportunities to succeed, including technology and magazines that enhance learning. By triggering a love for learning and a curiosity about the world around them and how hey can improve it, I believe that together, we can help make a successful future generation.

My Project

With such a scary start to the school year, I'd like to add some fun and color to our classroom. I'm requesting colorful materials, such as charts and post-its for fun pops of color in our class as we continue to learn. My students will be able to enjoy referring to colorful and bright anchor charts. They will also be able to use colorful post-its to record their brilliant ideas and colored pens.

These colorful papers and classroom supplies will help us learn and record our brilliant ideas, while bringing some fun to the classroom.

The students will be able to shine and their ideas can pop!
