Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a diverse population of students ranging from honors, special education, and English language learners from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school, meaning students come from many other social and economic circumstances. I teach mathematics to two sixth grade classes and one seventh grade class every year with thirty students in each class. My students are located mainly in the Elmhurst and Corona areas of Queens which have been hit very hard by this pandemic.

Basic supplies are the key to success in the math classroom!

These basic supplies will greatly help my students to have the supplies they need to start the school year right. The cardstock and scissors will make our chart paper and math classroom resources POP and easier to enjoy and learn from. The Spanish Book will help me (a non-spanish speaking teacher) learn how to better communicate with my newcomers and English Language Learners.
