Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are gearing up to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in a meaningful and exciting way! This after-school event is a chance for them to dive deeper into their cultural roots while embracing the vibrant traditions of Hispanic heritage. Many of our students are of Hispanic descent, and this celebration provides an opportunity to learn more about their culture while creating a sense of pride and community.

Every year, we host an after-school Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring a friendly salsa competition.

This event is more than just fun; it’s a chance for students to learn about the history of Cinco de Mayo, explore traditional music, food, and art, and engage in meaningful discussions about Hispanic heritage. To make the event truly special, we need your help to transform our space into a lively, colorful celebration.

With your support, we will purchase papel picado banners, vibrant tablecloths, festive centerpieces, balloons, streamers, and photo booth props to create an exciting atmosphere. Additionally, we hope to incorporate educational posters and culturally inspired decorations that will enhance the learning experience and immerse students in the beauty of Hispanic traditions.

This celebration will foster cultural pride and connection among students while providing an engaging way to learn about Hispanic heritage. The decorations will make the event memorable and help students see the value of honoring and celebrating their culture. By supporting this project, you’re helping us create an unforgettable experience that shows students their heritage matters.
