Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember having to read boring textbooks and having to take tons of notes in science class? In my class, I try to limit the amount of reading of textbooks and the amount of notes that my students have to take. We do mini lab activities as much as possible. My students also work on a great many group and individual projects. At the end of the course my students have learned about scientific concepts and developed skills that they can use in other classes and later in life.

My Project

These books will help my students learn about complex science concepts and STEM careers. These books will enrich my students learning experience. Many of my students are below grade level in their reading abilities, so providing them with books at their reading level will help them understand what they are reading.

Learning science should be fun, and should inspire students to investigate the world around them.

My students will be able to read about complex science concepts and STEM careers in colorful books that will inspire them to learn more and be more engaged in class. These books will supplement the notes that they take and activities/labs that they do in class.
