I am the art teacher of 250 amazing students from Kindergarten through 4th grade. Our school is a Title I, expanded learning time school. Our population is very diverse with different experiences, backgrounds, and cultures. Due to COVID-19, we are all experiencing a new normal. This new way of learning has been harder on some due to not having the basic needs and materials at home.
As an art teacher, is it a tremendous joy to watch the creativity and imagination of all my students flourish in art.
In art class, we are able to tap into their best attributes and let loose as they discover the artists that have changed our world, and encourage their own craftiness.
My Project
I would love to be able to give the Kindergarteners to third graders construction paper to send home in their supply pick up bags so we can use this art medium to add another layer and texture in the completion of specific projects.
Construction paper is such a hot commodity in any art class and this year adds an additional layer that creates a challenge because the paper must be separated and sent home in advance for upcoming projects and kids do not have construction paper at home.
Being able to provide the K-3rd graders with any and all colors of construction paper for upcoming projects would be absolutely wonderful. Please consider donating to support my project to bring colored construction paper to the K-3rd graders at my school.
