This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 18 Pre-Kindergarteners who enjoy exploring and are learning to express their emotions through play. Playing is important for my students because it is how they learn to explore their feelings. Through play, they are able to carry on conversations among their peers and teachers, and it is how they learn to explore their senses.
Furthermore, my Pre-K students are visual learners who excel at learning through their use of sight.
They think in pictures and details and have vivid imaginations. They like to look through picture books, spend time drawing, and they are able to gather information from illustrations, photographs, symbols and other visual stimuli.
Therefore, by having an Epson EcoTank color printer in the classroom, my students will be engaged with color materials, which instinctively will draw their attention and pique their interest. Research has shown that color can help students intrepret and understand charts and graphs, and it aids in retention of material covered in class. High-quality color printing can support tremendous creativity and innovation in the classroom.
Color is naturally engaging for all learners because it increases memory retention over time, it stimulates the brain in different ways, it helps to process multiple things, and it provides a useful bridge between the digital and print worlds.
In addition, I will be able to print all the visuals I need to stimulate emotions as well. Emotional response and visual stimuli have a simple link. They work together to generate memories.
By donating to my project, you are helping to increase my visual learner students engagement, boost learning effectively, and you are providing the visual aids they need to succeed in school.
