Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are intelligent and vibrant young people eager to learn about the world around them! They have supportive parents from various backgrounds that support them in their education. New York City is a place where all of this is possible.

As a special education teacher, I serve students with varying levels of ability.

I look forward to helping them all reach their full potential this year and see that anything is possible. The variation in their abilities provides a unique classroom environment for us all. They work together to build each other up and build on each others strengths.

They all bring something unique and special to our classroom environment and team. My students beam with pride when they are able to share things they have learned with others. Being able to watch them grow, even just over the past month, has been extremely rewarding.

My Project

The HP color all in one printer would change our year big time! Being able to create colorful displays and worksheets will make doing challenging work more fun for my class. I will be able to scan their work onto the computer and email it to their parents while still keeping a copy here at school for their file. Their projects will really come to life when printed in color.

Having fun while learning can make such a huge impact.

Not only will playing math games further their math knowledge, it will make learning math fun! So many of my students have struggled in math and now feel that they're "not good" at math. I want to change their belief of themselves, as well as change their feelings for school.

I hope that every student will be excited to come to school and learn by the end of this year. My dream is that if students were given the option to leave school and go home they would stay!
