My Students

Can you imagine the look on their parents' faces when they view their amazing nonfiction writing books?

I teach 2nd grade in Brooklyn, NY.

My students come from all different backgrounds. Some come from parents that can help them at home and some cannot. They are in an Advanced Placement class and are very bright. From the moment I met them I knew they were going to be a fun group who will enjoy taking on new projects.

My Project

A color printer will help their writing come to life with color photographs. Students will be able to research and print out photographs that can help in completing their books. In the past students would have to go to the library or a friend's house to print color copies to use in our writing. Having a color printer in our classroom will help make writing and illustrating easier for them.

Right now we have a black and white printer in our classroom.

Many times I need to ask parents to print materials at home to bring to school. Not all my parents can do this and it creates a problem with trying to get color pictures for a child.
