Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students attend elementary school level and reside in one of the poorest congressional districts of our nation. The children receive special education services in a Integrated Collaboration Teaching (ICT) setting.

Students with disabilities who receive Integrated Co-Teaching services are educated with age appropriate peers in the general education classroom.

ICT provides access to the general education curriculum and specially designed instruction to meet students' individual needs.

These students are motivated and eager to learn. Regardless of their status quo, they attend school everyday ready to learn and succeed.

A large percentage of my students live in unstable housing conditions in the South Bronx.

Therefore, I believe that my students should have the opportunity to have all the materials they need in the classroom to thrive and for that reason I am requesting the following materials:

Color copy machine to duplicate visual aid, anchor charts, vocabulary words, word problems with bar/pie graphs and more. The students will able to make better connections with the words and sentences when they have visuals aid.

Many of the students are visual learners, therefore they benefit from looking at colorful visuals to make connections with new knowledge.

The color printer will also be used to duplicate visual aid for STEM projects, holiday activities, and individual writing/picture packages for students that need differentiated instruction for English Language Arts and Mathematics.

Students desperately, need all of these materials.
