I teach 30 third grade students in a gifted and talented classroom setting. My students come from families who are new to the country. Some of my students require special services. My students come from varied backgrounds with different economic needs. My students are very bright and they seek enrichment activities.
They like to move, they love to read, and they love lots of positive attention.
Many of them are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status.
My students are creative, clever, and very spontaneous.
My Project
My students are so excited we just got a brand new laser color printer. We are getting ready for our non fiction reading and writing unit. We need copy paper and color ink to bring our information books to life.
My students are excited to include photographs and captions in their information writing books.
They are planning to teach others about things they know a lot about. They will be learning about non fiction text features in reading and writing non fiction. They would love to be able to add color to their books to help interest and engage their readers.
