This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Why do we need to learn this? When will we ever use this? Have you heard those phrases, or even said them yourself? I hear this all the time during math class at the beginning of the year. The students quickly learn that they use math daily. Let's bring math to life!
The students that I teach are eager to learn.
In an urban school to have students out at recess telling the principal and other teachers that math was fun makes all the challenges worth it. Math is fun because in my classroom it is centered on the students! They come from many different cultures, homes, and lifestyles but all have one common goal, SUCCESS!
My Project
By having ink for our color printer in the classroom, the students will be able to take ownership of projects we create on the computer. We will be able to print them out and display them. Students love seeing their work displayed and take more ownership of their work when they know it is special and others will see the work. The students enjoy using computer programs to create graphs, tables, spreadsheets, and reports. These projects will come to life when they can see them in color and share them with others.
This project will make a difference because funding is short for "extras" like ink for a printer.
The ink will help the students bring math to life! The students will be able to display their work in color and they will be able to share their work at home with their friends and family.
