Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third grade is an exciting time of transition for students. I have the honor of being one of the first intermediate teachers a child will meet. At our elementary school, my morning meeting is an engaging way to connect with my students at the beginning of each day. Along with teaching reading, I establish a culture of kindness, citizenship with my ELL (English language learner) students, give them ownership of the classroom, and teach responsibility.

It's so rewarding to see my students grasp a new skill or concept and be excited about learning through the use of technology.

Young children are truly like sponges and absorb information at an alarming rate! When children are given the opportunity to play and learn with developmentally appropriate materials, they blossom before our eyes. The curiosity and eagerness that my students exhibit for learning about the world around them never ceases to amaze me.

My Project

Students often report they engage better with color materials, which instinctively draw their attention and pique their interest. Color can especially help students interpret and understand charts and graphs, and it aids in retention of material covered in class. The use of computers and other technology such as a printer is an integral part of classroom learning. The color printer will be used to print documents, text, images, assignments, reports, and projects. Quality color printing is a key asset in on an educational level. It can be leveraged to create interactive visual aids for use in the classroom, which will help me communicate complex concepts to students. As an educator, it can also help me take advantage of color in classroom hands on activities. The sky's the limit when it comes to the visual materials, I can use in a color setting!
