This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our stock of art supplies just doesn't cut it! Help our theatre students create scenic, costume, makeup, and prop designs using scissors, glue, and markers.

I teach middle school drama / speech grades 6 - 8.

Our Title I school district is in a high-risk community where most students are minority and low-income. Though our students struggle at times to succeed, they are passionate, imaginative kids who deserve the chance to experience a creative learning environment.

My Project

Part of being in a Speech and Drama class is understanding how the technical elements of theater come together to contribute to the overall environment of the play. Our students develop focused ideas for the environment using visual elements and principles and aural qualities from a variety of sources. The students work together to create elements of scenery and properties represent environments, and costumes and makeup to show character. In order to create these designs, we need supplies. Unfortunately our stock of markers, glue and scissors is depleted.

If we had a new set of art supplies, it would be much easier to create our technical theatre designs.

Your donation will make it possible for our students to have enough materials to create their visions.
