My Project

I have been teaching ceramics at all grade levels for over 40 years. This is my first time teaching middle school students exclusively. They are in that exciting and challenging transition from childhood to adolescence. Most of them have had little opportunity to work with their hands and exercise their creativity. This is something they crave and I thrive on providing for them.

These multicolor, exciting glazes provide students with the opportunity to greatly expand the color palettes available to them in their ceramics course, as well as experience the creation of texture through color.

They also help them to make connections between creative expression and understanding science.
