My Students

To say that our students have had to overcome a lot over this past year is an understatement. Not only have they had to deal with normal societal and economic pressures, but they've had to do so during a worldwide pandemic. Since returning to school, they are stronger, resilient and more ready to take on the world!

Our school is a Title I urban school with the most diverse population in our district (80% BIPOC).

Over 66% of our students qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch. Our sweet students come from diverse backgrounds and bring a large array of experiences to our classrooms and school. School becomes a safe haven for these scholars - where expectations are the same every day and basic needs are met. While they come to school to learn, they thrive when they are given the opportunity to utilize a variety of resources to make learning real and fun.

My Project

Science in kindergarten is full of wonder, exploration, discovery and COLOR! This project will give my students a color printer for our classroom so that we can print our activities in full color.

While we use a lot of technology in our room, some activities are better when we can see them on paper - move them around, study them.

This printer and laminating sheets will allow me to give my students both versions and allow us to create activities that they can use again and again in math and science.
