My Project

In my school we are noticing that students have suffered socially from the impacts of Covid-19. Their ability to communicate and learn in a social setting has been stifled and it is showing in their classroom ability and interactions. What I am trying to accomplish is to give students a way to express themselves outside the normal box of in a class room, sitting at a desk and either listening to the teacher lecture or work on the computer or take notes. In my room they can be creative and express themselves in other ways.

Making a tie dye shirt of your own, painting a cute picture on a rock, putting a positive saying on your hand, can all affirm your uniqueness without pushing socially inappropriate bounaries.

Working on an individual project, while in a group or alone, is still an important asset and making sure students are able to express themselves is my main goal.

When we give students socially appropriate ways to express themselves they are less likely to get into fights, fail classes or have a negative view on school. I'm trying to boost self esteem and increase a prosocial environment here at my school every day.
