Help me give my students portfolios that they can personalize and will hold all of their paperwork, classwork, information, and pamphlets that they will need to make their post high school decisions.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are an inner-city school of visual and performing arts. My students live in neighborhoods where violence and crime are pretty much a part of their daily lives. They want to make a difference in the world and they want to go to college or trade school. They have visited college campuses and this exposure to the world outside of the school environment has energized them to pursue their career goals.
My students are determined to be successful!
My students are great kids, many come in years behind academically and work hard to catch up. They try their best every day to improve their own and others' lives. They do this with focus and determination.
My Project
My students lack the funds to purchase many school materials. They desire to go on to college or vocational training after high school and the process can be overwhelming.
By providing them with these clear envelope portfolios for their college and career ready class, it will allow them to collect all of the necessary paperwork, pamphlets, college information and keep it all in one place, so they can quickly retrieve it when they need it for admissions and for when they make their post high school decisions.
These portfolios will allow them to see the documents inside and to customize them to their own personal tastes by personalizing them using the card stock and stickers.
