Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are working towards receiving their high school diplomas and aiming to accomplish their dreams in post-secondary education. The Class of 2022 is special to me because of how driven they are in everything they do. Despite their various backgrounds and challenges, they continue to inspire me with their grit, charisma, and dedication.

Approximately 65% of my students are eligible for free or reduced lunch and most will be the first in their families to attend, or even consider college.

Additionally, our school is incredibly racially diverse with about 96% of our student body identifying as either Asian, Black or African American, or Latino/a.

As our students get closer and closer to College and Financial Aid deadlines, they are also working to understand themselves and navigate the world beyond high school, and I have faith in their abilities to do so intelligently and gracefully.

Help me make our kid's transition to college as seamless and full of life as possible! Items such as iPads are essential to a college student's success. We will be hosting our "College Decision Day" in May, after our students have decided where they will attend college. At this event, we will be hosting our seniors and others while we celebrate their present and future accomplishments as we enjoy the festivities with family, friends, campus staff, and many more who have helped our students along the way.

We know college can get expensive and helping at least one student with these materials can help them go the extra mile in college, and we ask that you donate whatever you can to assist our students with the college going process. The items will be raffled out to our seniors as a way to congratulate them. Thank you!
