A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I am looping with my students from first to second grade, so I know what an awesome bunch of learners they are. My students come to school with enthusiasm and excitement for learning. As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with several challenges. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth. I aim to provide a creative and meaningful learning environment to make sure my students are academically successful. I teach at a Title one, low-income school district in Mississippi where about 85 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite so many setbacks personally and with school funding, my students are eager to learn and do their best. I try to be creative in heightening their learning experience through research and hands-on opportunities.
My Project
Having interactive markerboard top tables in my classroom will be beneficial to my students in a variety of ways. We spend a great deal of time working collaboratively through group work and hands-on activities. These types of activities are extremely beneficial to my students, but it is difficult to perform these tasks with my current classroom arrangement. We currently have desks that are difficult to maneuver when working in groups.
These interactive tables would allow my students to work together with partners or in groups and give them the opportunity to share thoughts, ideas, and learning strategies.
Therefore having tables is necessary in order to allow my students to achieve positive results and meet their academic goals.
With the whiteboard tables, my students will be able to easily move in and out of their seats during class. This will also allow for me to do a quick check of their understanding from the content that is being taught.
