Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am excited to be in a 2-3 multi-age classroom. My students come from diverse backgrounds and each one brings a unique strength to share and make our classroom a true learning hub.

The goal for this year is to know what compassion is, practice compassion, and spread compassion to all that we interact with.

We will be reading the book Wonder by R.J. Palacios and will close read to understand the underlying message of compassion and kindness that the book is drenched with.

I am very excited this year for my students as they learn to use technology to do research on various topics such as Animal Habitat and Adaptations. They will learn about primary sources and secondary sources and how to cite mentor work. Furthermore, this year we are launching our new science curriculum - Project Lead The Way, which is a comprehensive curriculum that will prepare my students as they move up the grades.

This year is full of new learning and new beginnings!

My Project

The most essential piece of furniture in any classroom is a desk. A desk that is clean, smooth, dent free and rust-free​. Sadly the desks in our classroom do not fit this description. It is time for a change and an upgrade to our classroom furniture!

These new desks will not only provide a clean smooth surface for my students to write on but these desks will also allow collaborative work environment for rich thought exchange.

My students thrive on conversation and discussion; they work in small groups not only on projects but also during daily work. These new desks will provide the space they need to collaborate!

Your support in purchasing these new desks for my students will enhance their learning experience now as well as teach them the skill of collaboration; a skill that they will need in the future!
