My Students

This year our wonderful NYC students in our schools Integrated Collaborative Team Teaching class will be learning about ancient civilizations in our history class. Our class is comprised of general education students, students with disabilities including but not limited to ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Speech and Language Disabilities/ Delays, Emotional and Social Challenges, as well as students with Autism in our NEST Program for high functioning students with Autism.

With your support we can help provide additional resources to help our students maximize their educational opportunities and potential.

Your donation will support their eagerness to be a part of an amazing classroom and learning experience. We are seeking support from DonorsChoose to help our students shine and inspire them with fun and innovative learning opportunities.

My Project

Help our students engage in a hands-on collaborative learning center. This dry erase table will allow students to manipulate maps of both historic and current civilizations, as well as timelines of historical events, including the ever so difficult to understand concept of BCE to CE. The ability to dry out important features of landscapes as well as figures of important people in history will allow students to better connect to the topic by utilizing kinesthetic learning techniques. The students excel during educational opportunities that allow them to create their own understanding of learning. This dry erase table would do just that. Being able to reach students on a variety of levels is what encourages learning in the classroom.
