Collaborative and Flexible Seating for High School Mathematics Classes

My Students

Our school strives to find the leader in all students. Every child has capabilities, talents, and strengths; sometimes, all it takes is exposure or motivation. Or even just a different view from within the classroom. The students in my class strive for excellence and are continually looking to find success, even if it may be incremental success.

My class consists of anywhere between two and twelve amazing students.

All of my students receive additional support through their Individualized Education Program, among other services. They all have a think win-win attitude and do their personal best to contribute to our classroom community.

My Project

My mathematics class has become a central meeting point and hub for my students in grades 9-12. My classroom is large space which would be perfect for students to work collaboratively.

Further, my doors are always open to unscheduled period students.

I like to offer them a safe, welcoming environment to use during those open periods. My overall goal for my classroom is to provide a safe place of comfort where students can gather to work and learn. Ultimately, I want my classroom to encourage collaborative learning and connections with other members of the Red Devils. I fully believe that giving students a place to do this will help encourage this behavior. This will be the first type of flexible seating within our school!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my classroom full of students. My hope is to always provide the most comfortable environment for my students in which they can work whether it be with collaborative or flexible seating.
