My Project

My classroom has round tables that seat four students each. I would like to use dry erase peel and stick to convert the table tops to allow students to brainstorm, collaborate, and yes--even doodle, directly on the table.

Many of my students live in fairly remote areas of the Navajo reservation and travel two hours (one way) by bus to get to school.

They do not always have opportunities for true collaboration. I have designed most of my lessons to maximize collaboration and I believe that this element will really take it to the next level. Sometimes drawing things like word maps or Venn diagrams takes up more space than just an 8.5x11 paper, and being able to use the whole table gives them the room they need to expand their workspace.

My small town also does not do recycling, so I'm hoping to move some of what I print to classroom copies that I laminate and allow all of my classes to use to cut down on paper waste.

I teach government, economics, AP government, and student council. Every one of my classes will benefit from this.
