My Students

Hardworking. Dedicated. Adaptable. Ambitious. Eager. Resourceful. Responsible. Persistent. Diligent. Adventurous. Collaborative. Creative. These are all words that I would use to describe my students.

I teach 175 of the most captivating, diverse students you can possibly imagine, students of all levels, from special needs to gifted and talented, with a myriad of ethnic and financial backgrounds.

These young people spark a Marie Kondo level of joy in my life that I just cannot explain with simple words. I want nothing more than to teach them the most engaging Texas history lessons possible with the resources that they deserve.

My Project

Every school district has made choices about what options to offer families regarding student learning locations during the COVID-19 pandemic. My school offers both Face-to-Face classes as well as Virtual classes. While each family makes the best decision for their students and family, different issues arise.

Two of the issues that have come up on my campus are that Virtual students are longing for social interaction with their peers (educational or otherwise) and that Face-to-Face students are lacking the technology to be able to engage with their Virtual counterparts.

Almost all of my campus's technology has been distributed to Virtual students leaving the Face-to-Face students with nothing. My vision is for my Face-to-Face students to be able to Zoom, engage, and collaborate with Virtual students which will improve their social-emotional health and overall quality of life. This Dell chromebook would allow my STEM students to be able to complete PBLs (project-based learning) with partners that are learning from home. It would be a win for my Face-to-Face students AND my Virtual students.
