My Students

I teach in a Title I school where 100% of the students qualify for free meals. Approximately one-third of my students are English Language Learners, some coming from monolingual families. All of my students have the potential to be anything they desire!

My students come from various backgrounds and cultures, but they all have one thing in common.

They all attend a school where they are encouraged to learn new things and to take on new challenges. It is my goal to provide each of my students a rich educational experience with plenty of opportunities to collaborate and share their learning experiences with others.

My Project

Flexible seating allows children the opportunity to make conscious decisions about being successful. My goal is to provide children with options for seating that will increase focus and minimize distractions. Options like exercise balls and floor desks provide students with the opportunity to choose the most successful work space for themselves. These seating options will be used in groups to allow for collaboration among students.

Students will then be encouraged to share their efforts with their classmates.

I have iPads and Chromebooks for use in the classroom along with an interactive whiteboard. The students will be able to connect to the whiteboard projector and share assignments and projects with their classmates using the tablet stage and the Reflector app that I have downloaded. The microphone will encourage students to have the confidence to stand in front of their classmates to share their ideas.

I am hopeful for these materials because they will encourage students to collaborate among peers and present their ideas to one another. These materials will make productivity and presentation more engaging and more fun!
