My Project

In Raider Cafe, our students are taking on the exciting challenge of transforming our on-campus service into a premier coffee experience for our teachers and staff. We're moving beyond the limitations of single-serving coffee pods and embarking on a journey to craft truly exceptional coffee using professional-grade techniques.

In-Depth Coffee Research:

Students will delve into the science and art of coffee brewing. They'll research various brewing methods (e.g., pour-over, French press, drip), exploring the impact of factors like water temperature, grind size, and brewing time.

They'll investigate different types of coffee beans, understanding their origins, flavor profiles, and roasting processes.

Mastering Professional Equipment:

Students will learn to operate and maintain professional coffee grinders and brewing equipment.

They'll practice adjusting grind settings to achieve optimal extraction and experiment with different brewing techniques to understand their effects on the final product.

Developing a Standardized Brewing Process:

Students will create a detailed, step-by-step brewing protocol to ensure consistency in every cup of coffee.

Customer Feedback and Refinement:

Students will actively solicit feedback from Raider Cafe's customers (teachers and staff).

They'll analyze customer preferences and use this information to fine-tune their brewing process and adjust their coffee offerings.

Process Implementation and Quality Control:

Students will be required to document their process, and create a quality control system to ensure each cup meets their high standards.

They will learn the importance of attention to detail, and understand how small variations can drastically change the final product.

Menu Expansion:

Once they've perfected their base coffee, students will explore opportunities to expand the menu.

Raider Cafe provides a real-world learning environment where students can apply their knowledge and skills to create a tangible product that benefits the school community. We're not just serving coffee; we're cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement."
