My Students

I teach in a rural district. My school is 76% free and reduced lunch. I teach over 400 students of fourth and fifth graders. My school has started a STEAM program this year. We don't have a lot of technology. I want to add a new and exciting robotics project into our classroom. I would love to offer a program where students can come and work at their own pace and learn to program a robot in coding language.

My Project

We have begun a STEAM classroom. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. The main goals of STEAM Education is to teach students to think critically and have an engineering or design approach towards real-world problems whilst building on their science, technology, art, and math skills. I would like to purchase a two chrome books for the STEAM classroom.

This project will greatly enhance their learning by improving their critical thinking skills.

It will help them to discover, explore, experiment, create and problem solve in the STEAM classroom. This will in turn help them to build on their skills in Science, Engineering, Arts, and Math through the use of Technology.

This is a new project . We have turned the Music classroom into the STEAM classroom. We need chrome books for the students to learn coding skills, and help them with their science, engineering, and math skills. We will use these materials on a daily basis to help students develop their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Coding is fun and engaging. It builds comprehensive knowledge and applies analysis to learned information. Students will be engaged and improving their critical thinking and problem-solving skills no matter what their learning style.

The success of the project will be determined by the students’ improved critical thinking and problem-solving skills by using these materials. The students will be able to immediately see the results to their coding when programming a robot.
