My Students

My students are energetic, creative, and diverse third graders. My students vary from students with special education needs to highly gifted. They come from various economic and family backgrounds. We are a Math and Technology Magnet school, and our students love to learn through technology. They are creative and are working on learning how to work collaboratively in the classroom. One of their favorite times is science and STEM. Even my most energetic students are engaged during this time of the week.

My Project

Currently 21 third grade students are learning how to code and develop their STEM skills. We are using a little robot to build the students skills in coding using a coordinating app. I am requesting a second robot, so my students will be able to increase their coding time from once a week to twice a week. My students favorite part of our week is our STEM hour, but 21 students and 1 robot limits the amount of time I can allot my teams to develop their skills. It is amazing as a teacher to hear your students cheer when you say it's time to learn!
