Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at my school have the opportunity to push their thinking by using their imagination and skills learned throughout the school year. My students are from an urban community, and many of them receive free or reduced-price lunch. They are a diverse mix of students who enjoy learning, especially in the areas of science and mathematics. It is my goal to inspire my students through STEM lessons, activities, and challenges; pushing them out of their comfort zones in order to open a world of possibilities.

My Project

This year I will be creating a new Pre-K - 2nd grade STEM program for my school. This project-based program will be a first for my students. I want to introduce these new topics in a fun and engaging way, and teach them to use their critical thinking and problem-solving skills within a variety of topics.

These items will help my students learn to code using age-appropriate coding robots.

They will also add reading books to our library that align with our learning topics as well as add a gear center to our exploration center rotation.
