My Project

I am currently the technology teacher at our school, and I have the pleasure of teaching students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. In this day and age, all students should have the necessary skills to understand the technology unfolding around them. To this end, I believe programming skills are something that can be learned at a very early age. In our updated computer lab, students are learning not just how to type but also how to navigate the many highways of the internet. In addition, all grades are learning basic programming language skills to get them ready for real-world application.

As they acquire these new skills, I would like my students to have the opportunity to transfer their knowledge and bring their coding language to life through the use of robotic models.

By having access to a variety of different types of robots, this project will help them reach that goal. They will learn how to troubleshoot and critique the different types of models through a variety of programming challenges.

We are a small school in NYC with a diverse population and our families come from all parts of the world, but the one thing we have in common is the knowledge that the value a good education can open the doors to a better future. As they get older, our students will need to compete in an ever-changing world where having a deep understanding of new technology will be a valuable asset. Help me provide the basic building blocks for my students by funding this project.
