Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach at a wonderful Title I school in the Washington Heights neighborhood in New York City. Ninety-six percent of our students are eligible for free lunch, but this does not dampen the spirits of these motivated students. Many of my students do not have access to technology in their homes.

A new laptop can help my students achieve equality in the coding and robotics world.

The new laptop will allow my students to be excited about coding and have opportunities to practice. In addition, the new laptop will allow me to attend virtual professional development training that I must attend in order to provide my students with best educational practices. Please consider donating to our project.

My students need the best possible educational experiences that I can possibly provide them and that is why I need a new computer. My computer is 10 years old and the technology is outdated and that made connecting on Google Classroom and Zoom difficult at times.

Many families are already dealing with many social and economic challenges. If I get this laptop, I will be able to provide the daily interactions my young students need in order to bring some stability and consistency to their lives.
