Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach an incredible group of K-2 students who are curious, creative, and eager to explore the world around them. Many of my students come from underserved communities and deserve access to resources that inspire innovation, problem-solving, and a sense of belonging in STEM. Despite the challenges they face, they arrive each day ready to learn, collaborate, and dream big.

With the LEGO Spike Essential kits, I want to introduce my students to the exciting world of coding and robotics in a way that highlights racial justice and representation.

These hands-on tools are perfect for young learners, allowing them to build simple robots, explore coding concepts, and solve real-world challenges while learning about diverse leaders and innovators in STEM.

My goal for this project is to empower my students to see themselves as future engineers and innovators, regardless of their background. Our lessons will connect STEM skills to stories of inventors, scientists, and changemakers from underrepresented groups, helping my students understand the vital contributions people who look like them have made to the world.

My students are special because they bring unique perspectives and ideas to everything they do. They are eager to explore, learn, and tackle challenges, and these resources will help them develop critical thinking, teamwork, and confidence.
