My Students

All of my students have been identified with Autism and have very unique learning styles. They are an amazing group of individuals who strive their best every day. They learn best through hands on experiences that are both engaging an meaningful. Many of my students are non-verbal and need learning opportunities that give them the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding that differs from the traditional raising your hand and answering the questions. Each of them have unique and amazing personalities. They all make progress each day towards all of their academic goals as well as their social and pre-vocational goals.

Students with autism need learning opportunities they can feel successful in as well as developing their skills and abilities.

Using technology will prove them with opportunities to strengthen their individual skills in a way that is not stressful but rather fun and exciting.

My school is located in a low-income area, with low-income students. It is a smaller elementary school with limited funds and resources. My school strives to put the students first! We just lack the funds to buy technology and stay current with the demands of participating in a technology driven society.

My Project

With the use of technology my students will gain skills in areas such as coding, language, interaction, and problem solving. This will enhance their life skills and their academic learning opportunities. Software programs will be incorporated with the robots that will provide lessons in developing adaptive and cognitive skills, language arts, math, science, and social studies. Even more importantly, my students will have the ability to develop both their language skills and social skills. These robots will provide my students with the opportunity to access educational applications that will provide opportunities to inquire and investigate in all subject matters.

The donations with this project will provide my students addition resources to enhance their skills and abilities across all curriculum areas in a fun and interactive way that will be meaningful to them.

My students struggle in communicating their ideas and thoughts. by using computers in our classroom they will enhance their skills to communicate in various aspects. This will be life changing for my students!
