This year I am teaching 3rd grade.
I am so excited to sow into these eager growing minds.
English is a second language for many of these students. They work hard and want to be successful in and out of the classroom. They will benefit from any support a donation could offer.
My students live in a low-income area with 98% qualifying for free lunch.
Most of my students live well below poverty so their parents do not have the means to support a Parent Teacher Association. Many activities and resources are funded directly by the teachers.
These exceptional students may learn differently; however, they are high achievers that never give up. The fight in them makes it easy to advocate for them to have the best.
When the storm devastated our community and displaced us for a week, it really changed the way I think. I realized more than ever how much structure and consistency we provide for our students.
Having computers in the classroom will give my students the opportunity to use technology that most of the world uses on a daily basis. My students will be able to enrich their learning and review skills they have not yet mastered. The students will be able to word process, research topics, create presentations, play educational games and use accelerated reader to improve their reading comprehension. With computers in the classroom, the possibilities are endless. Currently due to my class size I do not have 1:1 chromebooks for everyone. This project will help me close that gap.
My project is important because each child has the ability to grow and lack of resources can hinder that ability.
I don't want my students to feel limited by the lack of resources, but to feel empowered and limitless. With your support and by bringing technology into the classroom, we can do just that!
