Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Sphero Bolt robots, Marty the Robot, Cutebot Extension Kit for Microbits, and Chibitronics for paper circuits will give students hands-on coding experiences that bring abstract concepts to life. These tools will allow them to engage in real-world problem-solving, boost their critical thinking skills, and foster collaboration. By using these interactive resources, students will learn coding in a fun, accessible way, making technology approachable for all.

The goals for Code Fun are to spark student engagement and excitement about coding by making it an enjoyable and hands-on experience.

Through this project, students will develop essential problem-solving, computational thinking, and collaboration skills that will serve them well in the future. Additionally, Code Fun will demonstrate how coding connects to a variety of subject areas, such as science and art, making learning more interdisciplinary. Ultimately, this project will help prepare students for future educational opportunities and careers in technology by giving them a strong foundation in coding concepts.

My students are from diverse backgrounds, with many being English as a New Language learners. They’re curious, resilient, and eager to learn despite limited resources. Their determination to explore new challenges and desire to make a difference in their community truly sets them apart. This project will give them the opportunity to unlock their potential in a tech-driven world.
