My students need 4 code-a-pillars with expansion packs to see coding in action and start at the very basic level. We will be working to code the caterpillars to follow basic patterns and sequences, make shapes, and loop.

My Students

Our students come diverse backgrounds. We currently have a number of students that are new to the country and speak limited English, if any.

The students are eager to learn and experience things.

We are currently starting to promote Computer Science for All and are in need of supplies. The students are excited to begin this adventure.

Although our students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, most are eager to learn and try new things. They enjoy thinking out of the box and being challenged.

My Project

Students will be able to see the basics of coding and make it a tactile experience. They will be able to think logically and problem solve when their code does not lead to the expected outcome.

The code-a-pillars are colorful, engaging, and bring computer science to life.

The students will use the code-a-pillars to bring coding to life and physically see how their code works (or doesn't work!). We will then take this knowledge and apply it to other activities and courses through coding websites. The students will also have an opportunity to learn blocky and eventually program a Wonder robot. They are excited to embark on this adventure!
